Supplier Engagement Day December 2022

Computer Aided Despatch (CAD) and Integrated Communications Control System (ICCS) Supplier Engagement Day 15th December 2022.

Thank you to all of those who attended and contributed to this informative and engaging supplier engagement day.  The day was incredibly well represented, with over 100 attendees from both the Fire Sector, NFCC, CCS, the Home Office, and suppliers from this niche area of the supply market, kicking off a more collaborative, mutually beneficial relationship between parties for all things CAD and ICCS.

A number of key elements were discussed during the session, including procurement issues, the current market, and the future of control rooms, but more importantly, a safe space was created for buyers and suppliers to share feedback and lessons learned, with constructive suggestions on how we can collectively drive innovation and create a better future for Fire Control systems, with some enlightening presentations from three of the market suppliers.

Some key actions and suggestions have come out of the session, which we will look to implement.  Please do bear with us whilst we plan how we can drive this forward.

Looking to the future, we intend to run these bi-annually, and we are also looking to include additional suppliers involved in CAD/ICCS integrated systems in specific focussed sessions.  Please do look out for these in 2023!

If you were unable to join us, we have provided a recording of the session held at the web link below, with permission from all those involved, and also a copy of the slides used.

If you have any further questions, feedback, or suggestions, please get in touch via the ‘contact us’ page on our website –

Control rooms review - NFCC

“This was a fantastically well attended event that exceeded my own expectations, and I’m grateful for everyone’s commitment to this and for the openness that was apparent. It was really encouraging to see suppliers and users freely engaging in discussion around the many challenges and perceptions when looking to procure and implement mission critical control room solutions, especially given technology changes and the needs and desires of Fire and Rescue Services.  A good working relationship between the Fire and Rescue Service and suppliers is essential to meet  all of our challenges of the future, and if we can continue that journey in the same vein as enjoyed at the event we should all be in a very good place.”

It was really great to see so many colleagues from around the fire sector and so many suppliers keen to freely give your insights and perspectives, as always good things come from continuous discussion and dialogue and this day was no different. Fire Control systems are some of the most essential and most complicated in the fire sector, working better together as a sector alongside the expertise of suppliers will be the best way to reduce complication and improve efficiency and effectiveness of these systems. Thank you everyone and I look forward to the next one”
